CW-control lists from three major international frameworks are implemented in the current version of the CMF-CW database (version D1.0). These lists include:
- Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC) Schedules, including amendments that entered into force on 7 June 2020: Three lists of toxic chemicals and precursors for their synthesis (Schedule 1, Schedule 2, and Schedule 3), primarily intended to support the Chemical Weapons Convention verification regime and declaration requirements. - Australia Group (AG) Chemical Weapons Precursors List, 30 September 2025 version: A list of dual-use chemicals that can be employed as precursors for the synthesis of chemical weapon agents, intended to support the harmonization of export controls by participating states (AG Precursors List). - Wassenaar Arrangement Munitions List 7 (ML7), 2025 version: A list of military-relevant chemicals—including toxic chemicals, riot control agents, defoliants, and key precursors—intended to support the harmonization of export controls by participating states (ML7 section of the Wassenaar Munitions List). Some overlaps exist among these CW-control lists. In particular, certain chemicals listed in the Australia Group (AG) Chemical Weapons Precursors list also appear in the CWC Schedules. Similarly, some chemicals listed in the Wassenaar Arrangement Munitions List 7 (ML7) also appear in the CWC Schedules. However, there are no overlaps between the AG list and ML7, as the AG list focuses on dual-use chemicals with potential civilian and military applications, while ML7 covers items primarily designed for military use.
